We spent half of our honeymoon at Piedra Escondida (5 nights) and it was definitely worth it! We used Piedra Escondida as a base to visit Tulum, Cobá, beaches, and cenotes. The service was incredible, and the hotel’s suggestions for the best beaches and cenotes were invaluable. The food at the restaurant was fantastic (including the best margaritas!), and the complimentary breakfast was always fresh and delicious. The rooms are perfect for the atmosphere – thatched roof (the 4 rooms on the second floor), local decor, stone-decorated showers, big beds, the sounds of the sea. Piedra Escondida’s private little beach also sets it apart from other beachside places – you can take a stroll on the larger, more crowded beaches, but you’ll always have a beach chair waiting for you just outside your room. Piedra Escondida’s central location was the best of both worlds – beach and convenience – but we would highly recommend renting a car (PE has free parking). You’ll need a car anyway to explore Tulum properly, and driving in the area is very easy and safe. All in all, Piedra Escondida was a hidden gem among the many lodging options in Tulum. We can’t wait to go back!

Room Tip: Room #4- 2 balconies overlooking the Caribbean!
